We are delighted you have chosen to participate in our selection process for the Baylor2 Medical Track Program. This will be an in-person event held on January 27, 2023, and is comprised of an interview process.
Baylor University's Pre-Health Studies provide students with opportunities for medical research, community outreach and leadership development. Our premedical program is committed to ensuring the success of our students by utilizing the talents and wisdom of a passionate and dedicated faculty. We are perpetually seeking and developing resources to enhance your educational experience through practical internships and research experiences.
Before You Arrive
- PREP WORK: In preparation for your event, please review this document from Baylor's Premedical Program.
- TRAFFIC: There are major construction projects underway on Interstate 35 and around campus. Plan for additional travel time and check current traffic conditions and closures at waco4bmap.org.
- EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS: In case of severe weather or an emergency on campus during your visit, register for Baylor Alert text message notifications by texting Baylor1845 to 226787. Note: Subscriptions automatically expire after 3 days.
- During your visit, we will also post important updates on this website, so we suggest you bookmark this page and keep it on hand throughout your time with us.
Schedule for Friday, January 27
- FOR PARENTS & GUESTS: You may have some free time while your student participates in their required sessions, so we've put together a list of opportunities just for you around campus and Waco!
- PARKING: Parking will be available at the Wiethorn Undergraduate Admissions Center (1301 S. University Parks Dr.) Spaces are limited in this area, so please feel free to park in nearby lots, as we expect many visitors on campus. Visitors may park in Visitor, Student or Faculty/Staff spaces on campus.
- ATTIRE: Dress is business casual for all programming on Friday. For the moments you enjoy our campus outdoors, we anticipate colder weather, so please come prepared with jackets and layers along with comfortable shoes for walking. Continue to check the weather just in case.
- GUEST LOUNGE: We hope you enjoy your day on campus and in Waco. If you want refreshments or a place to hang out, please visit our Guest Lounge between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the Cashion Academic Center, Room 506.
- IMPORTANT: You must be present for all required portions of the day Friday (9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) to be eligible for the scholarship.

8:15 a.m.
Check-In Begins, Wiethorn Undergraduate Admissions Center – 1301 S. University Parks Dr.
- Receive your materials for the day and enjoy breakfast and coffee.
- All students and guests will be shuttled to the Cashion Academic Center for the opening session.
9:00 a.m.
Opening Session, Cashion Academic Center, Room 506
- Hear from Undergraduate Admissions and Prehealth about program details and what the day will look like.
9:30 a.m.
Research and Case Competition Overview, Cashion Academic Center, Room 506
- Learn more about research and the case competition at Baylor from Dr. Klausmeyer, Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research, and current prehealth ambassadors.
10:15 a.m.
Group Work & Presentations, Paul L. Foster Campus for Business & Innovation, Various Classrooms
- Participate in a Leadership Health Case Competition. You will work with a small team of peers and a current Baylor prehealth student. Groups will collaborate and record a presentation.
11:45 a.m.
Lunch, East Village Dining Hall
- Have a complimentary lunch and mingle with current Baylor prehealth students.
12:45 p.m.
Dr Pepper Hour & Earle Hall Tours, Earle Hall
- Enjoy Dr Pepper Hour, a Baylor tradition, in Earle Hall while learning more about the Science & Health Living and Learning Center.
1:30 p.m.
Reunite with Parents and Guests, Cashion Academic Center, Room 506
- We will walk as a group to Cashion. You can reunite with your parents and guests at this point.
- The rest of the offerings during the day are optional and will not impact the scholarship decision in any way. Shuttles will loop from the Cashion Academic Center to the Wiethorn Undergraduate Admissions Center from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
1:30 p.m.
(Optional) Academic Programs Presentation, Cashion Academic Center, Room 506
- Learn more about the Honors, Business Fellows, and Science Research Fellows programs.
2:30 p.m.
(Optional) Q&A with Dr. Sanker, Cashion Academic Center, Room 506
- Ask Dr. Sanker, Director of the Office of Prehealth Studies, any questions you have about the B2B Medical Program or Prehealth at Baylor.
3:00 p.m.
(Optional) Lab Tours for Students, Baylor Sciences Building, Room A222
- Stop by to see some of our lab facilities. Due to limited space, lab tours are optional and for students only. Labs will be open from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
3:30 p.m.
(Optional) Campus Tour, Wiethorn Undergraduate Admissions Center
- Enjoy a 45-minute walking tour around Baylor's beautiful campus.
This concludes the required portions of Friday's event for the Baylor2 Medical Track Program.

Essay Prompt Information
The essay prompt will be available in your goBAYLOR account on Saturday evening. Prompt: How would you structure and utilize your undergraduate career at Baylor to prepare for and learn to address the disparities facing underserved populations of the United States healthcare system, while ensuring you provide quality compassionate care to your future patients? What challenges do you think you will encounter and how do you plan to reconcile them? Written responses must be submitted by 5 p.m. (CST) on February 20. Submissions will be reviewed and award notifications will be sent no later than March 17.
