Anis Qourzal graduated from Sunny View School in Malaga, Spain in 2003 and began searching for a university he could call home for the next four years of his life. Baylor University stood out to him because it combined all the characteristics he was looking for, including a world-renowned academic reputation.
Growing up in the diverse city of Malaga, Anis developed a love for things that are different. He wanted to discover the world and learn about different cultures, lifestyles, and backgrounds, both inside and outside of the classroom. Anis wanted to be stretched academically while experiencing true community at the same time.
Anis was "absolutely captivated" by Baylor's campus and was able to be surrounded by world-class facilities while having individual attention from faculty and staff that one might expect from a small university. The opportunity to grow academically, spiritually, and as a global citizen are what drove Anis to attend this exceptional institution.
When not working hard for the Admissions Office, Anis enjoys traveling and playing soccer.
Here's what one freshman Baylor student from Hawaii had to say about their experience:
"I thought I would reach out and let you know that I have enjoyed the past month here at Baylor. It is everything I thought it would be and more. I love my professors and the classes I am taking. I have made some awesome friends and I love the dorm hall I live in and the community I have found within it. I am so thankful for this. I want to say thank you to you because you are the reason I chose Baylor as my one and only school I applied to. You showed me a fraction of the love I get here at Baylor and I will forever be grateful for that. I wish you all the best and again thank you for showing me that Baylor is the place for me to add to my ohana."
