American Studies
American Studies is the study of a variety of American subjects, including communications, history, literature, museum studies, political science and religion. This major prepares students for the world of practical affairs with a goal of exposing them to the intellectual and cultural development of the nation. Courses include:
- American Literature Cultural Anthropology
- Race, Class and Gender
- American Public Policy
- History of Jazz
- Law and Religion in the United States
Many graduates teach at high schools or universities. Many pursue careers as writers or journalists, or work for city, state, or national government. Others continue their studies through graduate school, law school or seminary.
