Recommended High School Coursework

You can best prepare for a Baylor education through challenging and comprehensive coursework during your high school years.
We do not have any specific requirements for the courses you take in high school for admission consideration. In our application consideration, we value students who’ve taken a rigorous path and completed challenging courses on the AP and Honors levels as these courses distinguish applicants from their peers. We recommend that students complete the following courses:
Mathematics:
4 year-units (including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus)
Natural Science, laboratory:
4 year-units (including biology and chemistry for students who plan to enter programs in predentistry, premedicine, or nursing)
Social Science:
3 year-units (including at least one in history)
English:
4 year-units
Foreign Language:
2 year-units (same language)
Your transcript should indicate your senior coursework and that you are on track to complete all high school requirements for graduation. In reviewing applications, we are looking for students who have challenged themselves while in high school and are prepared for the college classroom.
