Educational Studies
To minor in Educational Studies, students must complete 15 hours of study within the School of Education. The minor in Educational Studies provides non-education majors with a foundational and interdisciplinary understanding of education’s role in society, learning processes and educational policy. This minor explores the principles, theories and practices that shape education, emphasizing how individuals learn, how educational systems operate and how various educational strategies apply across diverse contexts. Unlike programs designed for teacher certification, it focuses on broader educational themes, preparing students for roles in educational advocacy, community engagement, curriculum development and informal learning environments. This minor is ideal for students across disciplines who are interested in the dynamics of teaching and learning beyond traditional classroom settings.
