Favorite thing about Baylor: The best thing about Baylor is the traditions. Baylor is full of amazing traditions such as running the line, the Homecoming parade and Diadeloso, but my favorite tradition is Dr. Pepper Hour! Each Tuesday, every student, faculty, or staff member can get a free Dr. Pepper Float. I attended so often as a student that I was a member of the Dr. Pepper Hour Club!
Favorite place in Waco: As far as activities, I love the Cameron Park Zoo. Because it is located in Cameron Park, the scenery is beautiful! As far as food, I love Vitek’s. Nothing compares to a Gut Pak and a Dr. Pepper!
What inspires me: I’m inspired by my parents. My mom and dad both graduated from Baylor and have gone on to have successful careers. They both find fulfillment in their careers and maintain strong relationships with God, each other, and all their children. They taught me that balance is key, and I’m thankful to have had such great examples to follow!
Favorite hobbies: I love to read when I have the time. I’ll read anything that’ll keep me interested, regardless of genre. I also enjoy exploring Waco and finding new restaurants and activities to do with my husband. Lastly, I am determined to be a good golfer. I come from a family of golfers, but I’ve never played consistently. By putting that goal on the internet, I have to follow through, right?
Fun facts about me: I had the chance to ride in a hot air balloon and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is both the largest ballooning event in the world and the most photographed event in the world. I grew up watching balloons fly every year so finally getting the chance to ride in one was a dream come true.
My advice to you: Visit the colleges you are interested in if you can. I always wanted to attend Baylor, but when I came for my official campus tour, I knew it was the place for me! You can tell a lot about a university online, but nothing compares to walking around the campus and seeing what your life would look like if you attended.
