Baylor Bridge FAQs

Baylor Bridge FAQs

Process & Deadlines

We are honored you applied for the fall 2026 term.  The decision was made to offer you the Baylor Bridge program because we believe you would benefit from targeted academic support before enrolling full-time in the fall term.

The Baylor Bridge program is a conditional acceptance to the university. Upon meeting requirements, you will be fully admitted to the fall 2026 semester.

Yes, you are more than welcome to appeal your current admissions decision offer.  Please review more information about the appeal process through goBAYLOR.

No, you are simply required to submit your enrollment deposit for the summer II term.

Baylor’s tuition rates are determined each February for the upcoming academic year. Once the 2026–2027 rates are finalized, we will update the program cost. Baylor Bridge pricing includes 7 credit hours of tuition, summer housing, and an on-campus meal plan.

The grades you earn in summer 2026 as an incoming freshman will be calculated into your Baylor cumulative GPA.

We are looking for students with the greatest potential to succeed in the Baylor classroom, therefore we require a 2.5 cumulative GPA to proceed as a fully admitted student for the fall term.

Baylor classes are academically rigorous and summer instruction is already on a condensed timeline.  Students should plan to have full attendance in order to complete class requirements and be successful.

BMV is a requirement of the Texas state law to live in a residential campus and attend classes.

Yes, if a student attends the Baylor Bridge program and later matriculates to Baylor, the grades they earned in Summer 2026 will count towards their Baylor GPA.

As an early decision applicant, please reach out to your Admissions Counselor about the deadline to accept the offer and submit your enrollment deposit to Baylor. If you applied as an Early Action or Regular Admission applicant, you have until May 1.

Summer 2 is from July 13 – August 13.

Space is limited so secure one of the 50 spots available once you can confirm your intention to attend Baylor University.

The Baylor Bridge students will be supported by a variety of areas across Baylor's campus during Summer II.

  • New Student Programs will provide an Orientation/Line Camp experience for the cohort.
  • Student Life will plan programming during the week and weekends to engage students.
  • Campus Living and Learning will hire two student leaders to walk alongside the Bridge students to assist with student success and sense of belonging.
  • Success Center will provide academic mentoring and tutoring during Summer II. Through the Paul L. Foster Success Center has the following resources:
  • Baylor Learning Lab
  • Writing Center
  • Academic Support Programs

By taking courses in the summer 2 term, you can advance toward your academic goals. Graduation timeline will depend on your degree plan and success in the classroom per course.

Student success will provide in-person academic mentoring and tutoring during Summer 2.

Enrollment Deposit

Incoming Baylor students must submit a $500 enrollment deposit, whether they are required to start in the summer or intend to start in the fall. This enrollment deposit will serve as a credit toward your first bill.

Generally yes, class meeting times will be during the week. However, class times depend on the professor’s availability, so there is a possibility for variation.

Students participating in the Baylor Bridge program are required and limited to 7 credit hours over the summer 2 term.

The chosen courses for Baylor Bridge do not have prerequisites.

Generally speaking, faculty recommend students plan to use 2-3 hours for preparation and study outside of class time for every one-hour of credit they take. So, if a student is taking 7 hours of coursework a week, the recommendation is that they plan for 14 hours to study and prepare.

Students will be advised beginning in May.  All Bridge students will take same courses this summer: ENG 2310 American Literature, CSS 1302 Speech for Business Professionals, and STL 1103 Learning to Learn, for a total of 7 credit hours.

Your academic advisor will work with you to help you enroll in the courses you need. There will not be additional courses added as an option for this program.

Summer courses will be graded and not offered as pass/fail.

All students are required to achieve a cumulative 2.5 GPA to be fully admitted to the Fall 2026 term.

Cost & Scholarships

Students will be considered for need-based funding for the summer 2 term if the 2025-2026 FAFSA is completed. The information, along with the CSS Profile information, will be used to determine eligibility. Furthermore, outside scholarship eligibility requirements are determined by the awarding source. While we will certainly accept outside scholarships, those agencies will determine if the student is eligible, not Baylor.

Financial aid information cannot be moved from one academic year to another.  For the summer 2026 year, and students must file the 2025-2026 FAFSA, complete verification (if selected) and receive a 2025-2026 aid offer based on summer enrollment (direct loans, Pell, SEOG, etc.). You would have until June 30 to complete your FAFSA, but it is recommended that you complete it sooner.

All students applying to Baylor are considered for a merit-based scholarship. It is unlikely that students participating in the Baylor Bridge program will qualify, however, you will be considered for need-based aid you may qualify for if the CSS Profile and FAFSA are submitted.

Baylor Bridge courses are eligible for tuition remission. Please review the HR website for instructions about applying at https://www.baylor.edu/hr/index.php?id=949188.
