We are honored you applied for the fall 2026 term. The decision was made to offer you the Baylor Bridge program because we believe you would benefit from targeted academic support before enrolling full-time in the fall term.
The Baylor Bridge program is a conditional acceptance to the university. Upon meeting requirements, you will be fully admitted to the fall 2026 semester.

No, you are simply required to submit your enrollment deposit for the summer II term.
Baylor’s tuition rates are determined each February for the upcoming academic year. Once the 2026–2027 rates are finalized, we will update the program cost. Baylor Bridge pricing includes 7 credit hours of tuition, summer housing, and an on-campus meal plan.
The grades you earn in summer 2026 as an incoming freshman will be calculated into your Baylor cumulative GPA.
We are looking for students with the greatest potential to succeed in the Baylor classroom, therefore we require a 2.5 cumulative GPA to proceed as a fully admitted student for the fall term.
Baylor classes are academically rigorous and summer instruction is already on a condensed timeline. Students should plan to have full attendance in order to complete class requirements and be successful.
BMV is a requirement of the Texas state law to live in a residential campus and attend classes.
Yes, if a student attends the Baylor Bridge program and later matriculates to Baylor, the grades they earned in Summer 2026 will count towards their Baylor GPA.
As an early decision applicant, please reach out to your Admissions Counselor about the deadline to accept the offer and submit your enrollment deposit to Baylor. If you applied as an Early Action or Regular Admission applicant, you have until May 1.
Summer 2 is from July 13 – August 13.
Space is limited so secure one of the 50 spots available once you can confirm your intention to attend Baylor University.
The Baylor Bridge students will be supported by a variety of areas across Baylor's campus during Summer II.
- New Student Programs will provide an Orientation/Line Camp experience for the cohort.
- Student Life will plan programming during the week and weekends to engage students.
- Campus Living and Learning will hire two student leaders to walk alongside the Bridge students to assist with student success and sense of belonging.
- Success Center will provide academic mentoring and tutoring during Summer II. Through the Paul L. Foster Success Center has the following resources:
- Baylor Learning Lab
- Writing Center
- Academic Support Programs
By taking courses in the summer 2 term, you can advance toward your academic goals. Graduation timeline will depend on your degree plan and success in the classroom per course.
Student success will provide in-person academic mentoring and tutoring during Summer 2.
Enrollment Deposit
Incoming Baylor students must submit a $500 enrollment deposit, whether they are required to start in the summer or intend to start in the fall. This enrollment deposit will serve as a credit toward your first bill.
Yes, you are more than welcome to make alternate plans although we will offer all the support possible to help you do well in the program.
No, payment plans are not available for summer terms.
Courses
All Baylor Bridge students will enroll is in 7 hours. Baylor Bridge students will take Strategic Learning (STL) 1101, Communications (CSS) 1302: Speech for Business & Professional Students, and English (ENG) 2310: American Literary Cultures.
All students in the Baylor Bridge program are required to attend courses provided in the summer II term. No exceptions will be made.
No, the Summer 1 term is not an option for the Baylor Bridge program.
Generally yes, class meeting times will be during the week. However, class times depend on the professor’s availability, so there is a possibility for variation.
Students participating in the Baylor Bridge program are required and limited to 7 credit hours over the summer 2 term.
The chosen courses for Baylor Bridge do not have prerequisites.
Generally speaking, faculty recommend students plan to use 2-3 hours for preparation and study outside of class time for every one-hour of credit they take. So, if a student is taking 7 hours of coursework a week, the recommendation is that they plan for 14 hours to study and prepare.
Students will be advised beginning in May. All Bridge students will take same courses this summer: ENG 2310 American Literature, CSS 1302 Speech for Business Professionals, and STL 1103 Learning to Learn, for a total of 7 credit hours.
Your academic advisor will work with you to help you enroll in the courses you need. There will not be additional courses added as an option for this program.
Summer courses will be graded and not offered as pass/fail.
All students are required to achieve a cumulative 2.5 GPA to be fully admitted to the Fall 2026 term.
Yes, Baylor Bridge classes will be part of your permanent college record.
All courses will be administered in person.
Courses will be available for current Baylor students to register for if they are interested.
Prerequisites
1.Students would attend Orientation/Line Camp as a cohort.
2. Would be required to live on campus during the Summer II term. Students would be consolidated into one residence hall. A Graduate student would live in residence with the students.
3. In the summer, Bridge students would complete 2 three-credit hour classes (ex. ENG 2310 American Literature and CSS 1302 Speech for Business Professionals). Students would complete a one-credit hour strategic learning course. Intention would be to limit options so that students have a common academic experience.
4. Students would be connected to academic mentoring and academic tutoring services.
5. In the fall, the students will complete a study skills course to assist with their transition to college.
*No exceptions will be granted for students who cannot fulfill the program details as stated above. Students must agree to all terms and expectations. In order to be fully admitted in the fall term, students must successfully earn 7 credit-hours during the Summer II term and achieve a cumulative 2.5 GPA.

Students who wish to enroll in Chemistry 1301 must demonstrate either a 24 or higher ACT Math score, a 580 SAT Math score or higher, or an ALEKS exam score of 85 or higher.
Students who wish to enroll in Calculus must demonstrate either a 27 ACT Math score or higher, a 650 SAT Math score or higher, or an ALEKS exam score of 80 or higher.
Students who wish to enroll in a Modern Foreign Language course are encouraged to take the Modern Foreign Language placement exam.
Students will be able to access the ALEKS exam and get more information about how to complete it in their goBAYLOR account.
Living on Campus
Yes, living on campus is a requirement for all Baylor Bridge students, despite your proximity to Waco. For Summer 2026, Bridge students will live in North Village.
Bridge students are required to complete a housing application for both the summer and fall terms. Students will most likely have a different fall housing assignment from their assigned summer housing.
Yes, Baylor Bridge students will attend Orientation+BLC session from July 7-11, 2026.
Baylor Bridge students will move into their summer housing on the morning of Monday, July 6. We’ll host a Welcome Lunch, and families will have the rest of the day to get settled.
Baylor Orientation + Line Camp will take place Tuesday–Saturday, July 7–11.
After Line Camp, students are required to attend the Baylor Bridge Orientation on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Summer II classes begin Monday, July 13.
Cost & Scholarships
Students will be considered for need-based funding for the summer 2 term if the 2025-2026 FAFSA is completed. The information, along with the CSS Profile information, will be used to determine eligibility. Furthermore, outside scholarship eligibility requirements are determined by the awarding source. While we will certainly accept outside scholarships, those agencies will determine if the student is eligible, not Baylor.
Financial aid information cannot be moved from one academic year to another. For the summer 2026 year, and students must file the 2025-2026 FAFSA, complete verification (if selected) and receive a 2025-2026 aid offer based on summer enrollment (direct loans, Pell, SEOG, etc.). You would have until June 30 to complete your FAFSA, but it is recommended that you complete it sooner.
All students applying to Baylor are considered for a merit-based scholarship. It is unlikely that students participating in the Baylor Bridge program will qualify, however, you will be considered for need-based aid you may qualify for if the CSS Profile and FAFSA are submitted.
