Advertising
To minor in Advertising, students must complete 18 hours of study within the Journalism department. Often students are introduced to Advertising through their required Journalism courses and then decide to minor in Advertising to further their study of the field. For the advertising route, Baylor JPRNM has developed courses to prepare students for a career in advertising.
Most degree programs at Baylor do not require a student to select a minor area of study. Students may choose to minor in a field that supplements their major, or they may choose to pursue an area of interest completely outside their major. For example, a Marketing major may choose to minor in Advertising to supplement their major.
While staying true to the writing-intensive heart of journalism, the advertising path emphasizes copywriting, research, design and media planning.
