Favorite thing about Baylor: My favorite thing about Baylor would have to be the genuine spirit of kindness and hospitality that is extended amongst students, staff, faculty, family members, and everyone in between! While each person who makes up the Baylor family is different; everyone’s individual giftings and talents combine in a beautiful way. Baylor’s community truly is set apart in the way that everyone is eager to serve others before themselves.
Favorite places in Waco: My favorite place in Waco is a small, hole-in-the-wall art store on Washington Ave called MC Art Supplies. After I make a pit stop at the art store, I will normally drive to Cameron Park and set up a canvas to do some painting (with Yaki for dinner, of course!). Cameron Park has beautiful hiking trails, running paths, and spots to sit and enjoy nature. Go check it out!
What inspires me: My family inspires me. Both of my parents are some of the hardest working people I know, and they have never hesitated to make a sacrifice or extend whatever they could towards myself and my brother. They reflect the unconditional love that Christ has for each of us wonderfully, and I couldn’t be more thankful for them!
Favorite hobbies: I am an avid swimmer and got into running during my time at Baylor. I love to cook and bake; I have a collection of recipes that I’ve developed that I hope to pass down through my family. I spend a lot of time watercolor painting, oil painting, and working on various writing projects that I would love to publish in the future. I also enjoy pickleball and skiing.
Fun facts about me: I have gone swimming with sharks, and I love to read classical literature. I’m also fluent in French and can pick up on German in conversation with a fair amount of ease.
My advice to you: Abandon your fear of what others think. There is so much peace and joy that comes with stepping into the person you were created to be, rather than by comparing yourself against others. As you visit different colleges, be confident in your accomplishments and remain eager for what you still have on the horizon!
