Public Relations
To minor in Public Relations, students must complete 18 hours of study within in the Journalism department. The PR minor emphasizes the importance of branding and public image. Students can gain extensive knowledge of the industry through portfolio-building classroom work and internships that offer a first-hand look at PR.
Most degree programs at Baylor do not require a student to select a minor area of study. Students may choose to minor in a field that supplements their major. Or, they may choose to pursue an area of interest completely outside their major. For example, a Communications major may choose to minor in Public Relations to supplement their major.
Courses a student might take include Reporting and Writing for the Media, Public Relations Media Programming, or Principles of Advertising and Public Relations.
