Risk Management and Insurance
The Risk Management and Insurance major (designated as a pre-major) focuses on identifying financial and economic characteristics of risks to which firms and individuals are exposed and developing effective strategies for managing such risks. Available courses include:
- Fundamentals of Life and Health Insurance
- Fundamentals of Property and Liability Insurance
- Employee Benefit Planning
- Business Risk Management
- International Business Finance
Graduates can expect to find career opportunities in many financial service industries including insurance, banking, pensions, and investment management. Additionally, non-financial service companies are beginning to recognize the importance of enterprise and are turning to business schools for trained risk managers.
The Hankamer School of Business offers student exchange and study abroad programs that could be especially beneficial to Risk Management and Insurance majors.
Baylor also offers several Living-Learning Centers including the Business ' Innovation Living Learning Center. Living-Learning Centers are housing opportunities designed to place students of common interest together.
